Describe you and your guy? How did you meet?
I guess it’s true what they say… opposites attract! I’m a creative and he is an accountant, need I say more? We definitely level one another out. We met when I literally walked in to his living room attending one of his regular house parties. I wouldn’t say we hit it off straight away but we knew we would be friends for life.
How did you know he was The One?
My mum would say he was always the one, which might be why there was no defining moment for me. Things definitely progressed naturally and so effortlessly.
Describe yourself. What do you do? What is your regular street style?
I am an interior and graphic designer, a perfectionist and a Libran. I’m a pretty basic girl when it comes to my wardrobe and love to be comfortable always. Right now I am loving a pair of loose jeans and my Dr. Marten sandals.
What was your bridal style?
I was definitely looking for something simple and elegant. I don’t love being the centre of attention so was looking for something with minimal frills. A bit of sparkle was definitely on the cards though.
What made you fall in love with your &FL dress and where did you find it?
My mum and the amazing Marguerite at Your Art Bridal picked this one out for me. It was one of the last dresses that I tried on at our appointment and it definitely wasn’t what I had imagined for myself. Literally the second I had it on I knew it was the one. It honestly felt like it was made for me!
Describe your wedding - any inspiration or themes were your drawn to when planning? What was the vibe?
Celestial garden vibes. It was pretty damn dreamy! With all the restrictions that we had (no dancing, no singing, no mingling, no fun) we had changed our plans so many times but that did not water down the design intent ever. If anything it probably made it better – dining in a beautiful venue, on top of the world, large crystals chunks amongst dreamy flowers, star chandeliers and the most perfect weather you could ever imagine. Oh and margaritas!
Fave thing about your day? Any surprises?!
Due to Covid we cut our guest list from 120 to 34 and it sounds horrible but honestly it was one of the best decisions we made for ourselves. Having the most special people to our relationship celebrate with us meant the absolute world to us both. We got married on our 7 year anniversary! Also the time we took during our photos, it was just us, the sun was setting and I was sipping on margaritas – is there anything better?
What does marriage mean to you?
I was never getting married, it was something I have always said from a young age. Then he proposed and I said yes and we were going to be engaged for forever. 5 years later I am the biggest lover of marriage and in the lead up to our wedding it couldn’t come soon enough. I believe that marriage is a celebration of your relationship, the good, the bad and really cementing what we have always had. It’s seriously the best feeling in the world.
What's the one piece of advice you could give to brides?
Whatever you dream, do that.
Life post-wedding means...
There is nothing more exciting to us post-wedding than doing what we do best and that’s being together. Though it was the best day of our lives, planning a wedding during a global pandemic was bloody exhausting. Living in that little ‘just married’ bubble and drinking margaritas, bring it on!
