THE SAMARA
A modern and chic city celebration is what Jen and Travis envisioned for their wedding day. With a laid back aesthetic and an intimate mood, the pair exchanged vows at the W hotel in Brisbane, Australia, and partied with their 40 closest friends and family.
Jen chose our beautiful SAMARA gown from the amazing Sam at Bloom Australia in Brisbane, Australia. With her hair in a loose updo and a long classic veil, Jen’s bridal look is modern, clean and romantic, all at the same time.

Describe you and your guy? How did you meet? Trav and I first met when we both worked at the Tivoli Theatre in Brisbane. We were together for about 9 years when we got engaged, and pulled our wedding together within 6 months. We both love good food and wine, and nights in watching reality tv.
How did you know he was The One? I knew probably within 6 months that we were going to end up together. I can’t remember exactly what prompted it, but I remember the feeling.
Describe yourself. What do you do? What is your regular street style? I’m a CPA working in the music and events industry. My go to style is well fitting minimalistic pieces, with neutral colour tones.
What was bridal style? I wanted something sleek and classic with a little bit of edge.
What made you fall in love with your &FL dress and where did you find it? I found it at Bloom Bridal in Brisbane and it instantly stood out due to the shape and fit. I never thought I would have picked a dress with long sleeves but I’m so glad I did, I loved the look and they also added some great texture to the photos.
Describe your wedding- any inspiration or themes were your drawn to when planning? What was the vibe? The main theme for our wedding is that we wanted it to feel like a big party with very little formalities, and a focus on enjoying the day with our closest friends and family. We had our reception lunch at our favourite restaurant Maeve, and chose to have an after party in the penthouse suite at the hotel where most of our guests were staying. We only had a guest list of about 40 people as we wanted to keep it intimate, and be able to connect with everyone on the day.
Fave thing about your day? Any surprises?! As nervous as I was for the ceremony and crying in front of everyone, it was definitely my favourite part and something I will never forget. It was such an emotional high for both of us and the happiest we have ever been. We both ended up crying the whole time.
What does marriage mean to you? Marriage means having a partner there with you through the ups and downs. Someone who makes you feel safe, supportive, and encourages you to be the best version of yourself.
What's the one piece of advice you could give to brides? Do things your own way and don’t listen to family pressure telling you the way things ‘should’ be done. We had the most amazing day, which I think we achieved by staying true to what we wanted it to mean to us.
Life post-wedding means .... enjoying the now
