Taking her time to plan her dream wedding in Portugal, Julia and Miguel surrounded themselves with their loved ones for a beautiful garden celebration. Describe you and your guy? How did you meet? Tell us your love story!

We met when we were 18 and he transferred to my school. We've now been a couple for 12 years and have experienced a lot together and grown closer.

How did you know he was The One?

On the one hand we are so different but we share a deep bond and the same values. Our families and friendships are most important to us, all of that keeps us together. In addition we have the same idea of life.

Describe yourself. What do you do?

Miguel works as HR Manager Europe and I work as a stylist in the fashion industry. I love being creative and put my heart and soul into planning all the details for our wedding in Portugal. As we decided not to get married until two years after the engagement, we were able to plan everything in peace and put a lot of love into every detail.

What is your regular street style?

I think our wedding concept reflected our private style perfectly. In my job, I deal a lot with current trends, which is why we wanted to incorporate all these ideas into our wedding.

What was your bridal style vision?

We wanted our wedding to have a bit of a Portuguese vibe, but still be modern with a few vintage details. Especially in our wedding outfits and the flower and decoration concept. All in all I think we can describe it as "modern vintage".

What made you fall in love with your &FL dress ?

I bought the dress two years before the wedding. I had seen it on Instagram and when I put it on it was love at first sight. I haven't tried on another dress since.

Describe your wedding- any inspiration or themes you were drawn to when planning? What was the vibe?

We have created many Pinterest boards, which we have constantly updated over the two years with new ideas and new trends. That's how the whole concept came about in the end. We love all things that are unique, so we designing and painting little things ourselfs, which you could find throughout the day - in the invitations, in the welcome sign, in the rings etc.

Fave thing about your day? Any surprises?! What does marriage mean to you?

That day was like a fairytale. I was able to let go of some of my perfectionism and we really enjoyed the day with our loved ones.

The wedding was an absolute celebration of love for us. It was so great to celebrate a day that once again sealed our love and triggered incredible feelings in us - even after 12 years of being together.

What's the one piece of advice you could give to brides?

I think the most important thing is that you stay true to yourselves. No matter who wants to have a say, it's important that it remains your day and that your signature is recognizable. Its hard to say, but its important to not overthink everything and let your heart decide.
